SAN FRANCISCO!
JAZZ!JAZZ!JAZZ!
"If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear flowers in your hair..."
"If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear flowers in your hair..."
birdsingswhythecaged i know.
The airport has been for me what hospitals can be for many people. The sterile center that is always escorting you in and out of different lives.
It is the purgatory in which your loved ones wait in short term parking. It's a stable place in which everyone is on their way somewhere else.
It is the structure which embraces you into, or excretes you out of, America.
And this time I hung there tired, like a buoy, afraid to leave the security checkpoint because my magic pumpkin carriage portal would suddenly transform into a vacuum of back-at-home. Heartbreakingly home.
California, we've got so much left to do for the world.
This is the weirdest it's ever felt to be back.
